When you save an event it would be a nice feature for users to get reminders for future events at that venue.
A local events calendar competitor is doing well with that feature. Check out http://intown.com/
The integration with MailChimp using the add-on may provide some of this functionality, but the point would be to not have to use another service to send the emails
Or, if you're going to require integration with an outside email sending service, at least support more than one service in order to give users options and/or support their already existing functionality. For example, I already use SendGrid for multiple functions on my site and would not want to have to set up another account for a very similar service just to get email reminders for the calendar.

Any ETA on this feature? This would be great, we get asked by our library patrons a lot, they wish we'd send them a reminder for an event (email or text). For now, we show them how they can use the E-Mail button (email to themselves or friend), or add to their calendar, but most seem to want a reminder sent to them a few days before.
My client has enjoyed using your plugin for classes and is now seeking a solution that will send email reminders to a student who has signed up, preferably with a confirmation option so the client knows the student received the reminder(s). Ideally, sending a reminder or three at configurable times beforehand. This is a special situation where a simple "add to calendar" will not suffice. THANKS! Happy to pay for this added feature, btw.
